Portland, OR –
“And I’d rather be – 1-2-3 – Me!!”
Toni Land dives head first into the chorus of her sassy, rockin’, confident new pop single, NEW GIRL, following on the heels of her recent 2019 radio hit, FRANKENSTEIN. This Northwest award winning singer songwriter has teamed up again with Portland, Oregon producer Jim Walker with NEW GIRL and its melodic, eye-popping’, show-stoppin’, and ear-stickin’ fun. This song gives the listener a candid glimpse into the mind and motivations of a modern woman in a modern world. The results are honest, catchy, surprising, heartfelt, and a lot of fun.
Across the span of six albums, Land has constantly revealed her humanity and her originality to us. Storytelling songs from a real person on a real journey of truthtelling and soul-searching, whose music has been described as “surefooted in her travels between country and folk” and has earned comparisons to Sheryl Crow, Eliza Gilkyson, and Lucinda Williams. Land’s music is played across formats including Country, Top 40 and Adult Contemporary stations all over the United States as well as in Canada, Europe, Russia, New Zealand and Australia.
On her IT’S GOOD EP, released in 2018, Toni stuck to her alt-country and folk-rock roots. It featured the radio charting single FRANKENSTEIN with its romantic, dark and charming, tom-tom driven and electric boot swamp style. IT’S GOOD is very good as one would expect from an artist awarded Best Songwriter by the International Acoustic Music Awards and the Portland Songwriter Association.
Land has earned publishing and production deals for her songwriting throughout her lauded career. Her first single, HAVE YOU EVER SEEN YOUR REAL LOVE, landed on the Top 40 Adult/Contemporary Chart, and earned Land a national distribution deal. She was voted ‘top 10 artist’ by radio 98.6 listeners in Berlin. Her song, GOOD FOR ME, rose to the #4 position on MP3.com on their Triple A Chart. Her songs have been called “fresh, vivacious and slightly irreverent” by S. Rick Teverbaugh of the Herald Bulletin, and “eclectic, funny, moving, and thoughtful, …with a lovingly wicked slant” by Wayne Richards, former President of the Portland Songwriters.
