There’s a restlessness to award-winning, Pacific Northwest songwriter, Toni Land. Ever-searching…and always curious. Toni’s new EP – It’s Good – perfectly captures that restless spirit. It’s the sound-snapshot of an artist constantly moving forward. One who doesn’t do the expected thing. One who is forever thirsting to draw from a deeper creative well. This evolving path has led Toni to this, her sixth release. And no surprise – It’s Good is very good!
Toni plays equal parts mad scientist and weary romantic in the dark and charming, tom-tom drive and electric boot-swamp of “Frankenstein,” the first single from the CD. From the bang and twang of the opening kicker “Ghosts Of Regret” it’s obvious Toni’s moved into new and adventurous territory. Here, emotional battle lines are drawn and Toni dares us to cross them. “Good People” moves us across a soulful and hypnotic groove-wasteland of memories and dreams, while “Greatness” serves as a reminder of the power of an absolutely gorgeous ballad. An emotional highlight. We close the album with the atmospheric and haunting “Tree Song”, which from the downbeat drops us into the breathing and beating heart of an ancient living world.
“Frankenstein” has charted across Adult Contemporary, Country and Top 40 radio formats. Her music has received airplay throughout the US as well as in Europe, Canada, and Russia ever since her first single, “Have You Ever Seen Your Real Love?” from Chocolate Cake for Breakfast which climbed to the Top 40 chart.
“Toni Land-I love her! I’ve been playing her and playing her and then I’ve been playing her some more.” -Mathew Richards, KTIL

Frankenstein
(Toni Land ©2018)I’m really out of breath
From all the times I’ve held it in
I tiptoe round your past
All your loves, that didn’t lastYou hold back and complain
You say I want too much from you
I know you pulled the plug
Once again, on our loveI’m gonna build me a Frankenstein
Rob the grave, find all the right parts
I’m gonna build me a Frankenstein
In case one breaks, I’ll give him two hearts
Get a brand new startWon’t be no scar that I don’t know
The only ones will be skin deep
Nobodies ghost living in his head
No one but me in his bedWe’ll boogie under the moon
My perfect man, my perfect plan
Drink our favorite wine,
Toast to love, that’s all mine.I’m gonna build me a Frankenstein
Rob the grave, find all the right parts
I’m gonna build me a Frankenstein
In case one breaks, I’ll give him two heartsHe’s gonna meet my own little monster living inside of me
He’s gonna meet my own little monster living inside of meI’m gonna build me a Frankenstein
Rob the grave, find all the right parts
I’m gonna build me a Frankenstein
In case one breaks, I’ll give him two heartsHe’s gonna be, he’s gonna be, he’s gonna be all mine
My own Frankenstein
He’s gonna be, he’s gonna be, he’s gonna be all mine
My own Frankenstein
He’s gonna be, he’s gonna be, he’s gonna be all mine

Ghost of Regret
(Toni Land ©2018)Hey lay down the whiskey
Lay down the guns
If time could talk stead of running you down
It’d say let go the grudge and
Let go the ragin’
time a creepin up without a soundSo you say I was your girlfriend
You’ll have some more
Stop mining those highs and lows
Stop claiming you’re ruined
Leave room for improvin
Everybody paid up, nobody owesFace to face
Fact to fact
Time to forget
The ghost of regretSo we didn’t make the finish
Didn’t pass the test
Somethings don’t need flyin’ colors
Don’t need my forgivin’
Just call it living
Pull yourself right out of the cellarFace to face
Fact to fact
Time to forget
The ghost of regret who whoGet up in the mornin
Buy some pretty things
Turn this ole shack into a home
Dance in the kitchen
Find things that need some fixin
Quit scaring yourself when you’re aloneFace to face
Fact to fact
Time to forget
The ghost of regret -
Good People
(Toni Land ©2018)My baby hates to close his eyes that’s why he up at night
rather be in a crowd of trouble and fight
I never hold a single thing against his tired soul
I knew him long before the war took it’s toll
Good people
Good people
Good people die a little everyday
When they know something’s wrong but gotta do it anywayWhen I dream of him at night, I see an angel’s feet
He’s hungry and he’s thirsty with nothing to eat
I try to give him water, put it to his lips
He turns his head away, won’t take a sip
Good people
Good people
Good people die a little everyday
When they know something’s wrong but gotta do it anywayBridge
I don’t walk in his shoes
I can’t look through his eyes
I don’t hear the bombs and
I can’t feel the fire riseMy baby’s locked the door again Trying his own case
He’s the judge He’s the jury, in that dark lonely place
He turns on the light again and gets out of bed
Opens up his eyes still sees the deadGood people
Stretched out on the rack of life,
not sure where he belongs
Good people
Not sure if he was right,
or if he’s wrong
Good people

Greatness
(Toni Land ©2018)Your medals your trophies are all put away
No one’s smiling, no ones cheering no one’s calling out your name
When you’re walkin by
The band’s quiet, no one’s toasting, you’re not dancing like a fool
gotta step down, take it now, had to happen to you
Go ahead and weepGreatness never gets off easy
Even if you float like a butterfly, sting like a bee
Greatness will knock you down to your knees
But If you could know what I know, see what I see,
You’re always a champion to meYou had a dream, like a message, a blueprint to your soul
Don’t hold back, take the steps now, like a dance you already know
It’s all right there baby
Before I loved you, before you wowed me, before the world it ever knew
You’re spirit rose up, put an honor deep inside of you
Oh it’s bitter sweetGreatness never gets off easy
Even if you float like a butterfly, sting like a bee
Greatness will knock you down to your knees
But If you could know what I know, see what I see,
You’re always a champion to meGreatness never gets off easy
Even if you dance like a butterfly, sting like a bee
Greatness will knock you down to your knees
But If you could know what I know, see what I see,
But If you could know what I know, see what I see,
You’re always a champion to me -
The Tree Song
(Toni Land ©2018)Come sit under my branches
Feel the cool breeze
I’ve been around
a thousand years.
waiting
come cry your grieving tearsI’ll shelter your joy
from the heat of your life
As you lie down on
blankets to sleep
I’m waiting
my leaves have piled deep
I’m waiting, waiting
for youThe wisdom of your soul
will hold me in silence
look in your dreams
grace, faith and time
waiting
with a gift of death
I’m waiting, waiting
for youBridge
After the seasons change
so will the light
after your tears all fall
you’ll hear my call
I’m waiting, waiting
Waiting, waiting
Waiting for you
